FOTS Splits, Goodfellas Drop Two
FOTS opened the night against the hot Team Nike and could not get their bats going at all, scoring only 3 runs in a 13-3 loss. They were able to kickstart the offense in their second game against SE Young Adults as they romped to a 14-2 victory to finish the season 8-6.

Goodfellas played the top team in the league in a very close game. In the end they could not stop the juggernaut A-Men (who finished the season on a 12 game win streak), coming up short 11-8. The offense sputtered some more in the next game against Hope Lutheran. Needing two runs in their final at-bat as the home team, Goodfellas couldn't pull it off and lost 8-7.

Tourney info will be posted as soon as it is received.

FBCF Goes Undefeated
Last night was a good night for both FBCF teams as each team won both of their games!

FOTS didn't completely snap out of their offensive slump, but they did just enough to beat FBC Pearland 10-6 and then squeak past Bay Area Presbyterian 7-6.

Goodfellas carried their momentum from last week over as they defeated Southeast Young Adults 21-10. Then they faced a good test with FBCF Pearland who came on strong in their last at-bat with 6 runs, but it wasn't enough as Goodfellas won 17-12.

Goodfellas Take 2, FOTS Struggles
Goodfellas came out strong against Hope LCMS, playing good defense and scoring 13 runs for a 13-3 run-rule decision after 5 innings of play.

Goodfellas second game was a battle to the end against The Shadycrest Sharks. As the visitors, Goodfellas put up 3 runs in the first inning and held Shadycrest to 0 - good start! The next two innings, Shadycrest took the lead as Goodfellas offense sputtered and could not score. After 3 innings it was 4-3 in favor of Shadycrest. Mike led off the 4th with a home run to tie the game, but Goodfellas couldn't push another run across. Shadycrest then popped off 4 more runs to lead 8-4. The fifth inning was spectacular for Goodfellas! After a leadoff out, JP got things going with a single. Sumrall followed up with his 4th inside the park home run of the year! Then with two outs, Mike and Perry singled. Greg blasted a triple to right center to score them both and tie the game. Guidry then came through with the go ahead RBI on a single that scored Greg! Going into the bottom of the 5th, Goodfellas were ahead 9-8. They played stellar defense, allowing only a single in the inning and no runs to come away with their second victory of the night.

Unfortunately for FOTS, they could not build off their success from last week. They struggled to score and both teams they played got hot resulting in two losses for FOTS.

What's This? An Update!
Apologies for not getting weekly updates out lately. It's going to be a little more difficult this year since we have 3-4 fields going simultaneously so Goodfellas and FOTS will be playing games at the same time quite often, so I won't get to watch all the games to create a report.  Anyway....here's a quick rundown of what's happened so far and then a brief summary from last night:

Goodfellas have had a rough time scoring runs. Week 1 was decent, but they came away with 2 losses anyway. Week 2 started with a bang, lots of runs, but many of them were off errors from the other team. After that, the next three games (all losses) saw run productions of 4, 2, and 2.

Last night they finally started to see the bats wake up, which also coincided with really good defensive play. In game 1 against Southeast Church of Christ, it was a defensive struggle up until the 4th inning. SECOC put up 7 runs that inning and never looked back. Goodfellas were at least able to score a little and the final ended up 14-6.

In game 2 against The Rounders, it took four innings before the Goodfellas finally scored, but they put up 5 runs in the fourth to make it 5-4. After holding The Rounders scoreless and then going scoreless themselves, The Rounders put up a single run in bottom of the 5th to tie the score. The Goodfellas answered with 5 more runs in the top of the 6th and held on for a 10-6 victory.

FOTS has fared a little better, but have had a hard time being consistent game to game. The first 3 weeks of the season they would have one good game and one bad game and thus came away with splits every week.

Last night FOTS found their rhythm. Their bats came alive as they scored 12 runs against Shadycrest and 18 runs against Hope Lutheran to come away with 2 victories.

Stats Highlights for FOTS (played both games)
Best Batting Avg: Quinton, Matt M - .857
Best Slugging Pct: Quiniton - 1.286
Most RBIs: Mason - 6
No Home Runs
No Triples
Most Doubles: Quinton - 3
Most Runs Scored: Nelson, Quinton - 5 each
Most Walks: Ben - 2

Stats Highlights for Goodfellas
Best Batting Avg: Brett - .857
Best Slugging Pct: Brett - 1.286
Most RBIs: Stan, David, Perry - 3 each
The ONLY Home Run: David
The ONLY Triple: Brett
Doubles: Brett, Greg - 1 each
The ONLY Walk: JP
