A Win, A Rainout, and Stats From Week 2
The field was already sloppy when the teams started playing....and it hadn't even rained yet! Apparently all the new dirt that was added to the field just created several spots for water to gather, particularly around home plate. So the batter's boxes were like standing in cake batter before the night even started due to the little bit of rain that fell over the weekend.
The Mutts jumped out early with a lot of hits and 5 runs to show for it and led 5-2 after the first inning. A slow second inning by both teams produced a 6-2 result going into the third. The Mutts put up 3 more but then Clear Lake unleashed a 6 run fury to make it a tight game with the Mutts up 9-8 after 3. The rain was starting to try and fall, but it never got serious during this game, just a light sprinkle here and there. The Mutts scored another 3 runs in the fourth and held CLB to zero runs in their next two innings to take the win 12-8.
A little ways into the next game between Baybrook and CLB, the skies opened and the game was called. We'll update the schedule once we find out when the make up will be for the Mutts second game.

Same Story, Different Week
What a streak! .500 night after night! If anything the Mutts have been consistent as they win against Clear Lake Baptist and leave the bats at home against Baybrook Baptist. The first game of the night was against Baybrook Baptist who kept hitting it where we were not. That coupled with some poor decisions to play pin-the-tail-on-the-base runner, ended up costing the Mutts the game falling 12-17. The second game the Mutts fired on all cylinders throughout the order. Coach JP is happy to report that no midnight texts were received as Robeau was blistering hot for the game going 3-3 for HR's creating a total of 7 RBI's against CLB. He was followed by Perry, Mike, Wade & Ben all knocking in at least 2 or more RBI's giving us the win 18-9. We closed the night out with a strong defensive performance and a much deserved win. Let's keep up the great hitting and solid defense we had in that second game!
NOTE - Week 2 stats have not been posted yet. Word on the street is they are still in the bag which is sitting at home while we're all at work at the moment. Will post them up as soon as we can.
