The Mutts started of the night firing on all cylinders against Clear Lake Baptist! The bats were going through the entire order with doubles and home runs being passed around by everyone. There were slight rumblings that the new head coach has revolutionized the team once the run rule was established with a 14-2 victory. However, the rumblings were short lived. The second game of the night the bats remained hot, with both teams trading grand-slams back and forth, but the defense began to crumble for the Mutts. Fortunately, the Mutts were the home team with a final chance to redeem themselves from a deficit of 14-20. The Mutts started off the final inning with 2 outs desperately needing a 2 out rally. Perry came up to bat with a solid line drive to put him on 2nd. With some advice from the Judge, Ben grabbed his new hammer and hit a perfect shot to send Perry home from second. Unfortunately, it was all the Mutts were able to muster and fell 15-20 to Baybrook Baptist.

The Goodfellas (with some help from some pick up players) were able to make their way into the championship game last Saturday before losing to League City Church of Christ and coming away with a 2nd place finish in the Summer II Tournament. Here's the way the bracket looked:

The Summer II season ended Monday night with a couple of good wins and one bad loss.

FOTS kicked off the night by finding their swing and consistently putting runs on the board throughout the game. Coach Ben went 1 for 1 with 3 walks and Robeau was a single short of hitting for the cycle as FOTS beat Clear Lake Baptist 12-4.

Goodfellas followed up with a rout of League City Church of Christ. Through 2 innings the 'Fellas had almost gone through their lineup twice and combined with some stellar defensive play, they were able to put an exclamation point on a 14-2 win.

Baybrook turned the tables on Goodfellas and won the final game of the season 17-3.
