The Goodfellas played an exciting game this past Monday night against Hope Lutheran #1. It was a pretty close game throughout and going into the bottom of the last inning, Hope Lutheran was ahead 10-7.

Warren got things started with a base hit through the left side of the infield. Ben (3 for 4 with a double and 2 triples) kept his slugging percentage high with a double that scored Warren making it 10-8. Stan followed with a walk and Heath loaded the bases with a single. Greg came up with delusions of grandeur on his mind and hit a high fly ball to right center which was enough to score Ben from 3rd to bring the Goodfellas within a run at 10-9.

Next up, Aaron came through with an RBI single to tie the game. So at this point it is 10-10 with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out. Robert hit a shallow fly ball so the runners were unable to advance which set the stage with 2 outs for Lesco. Lesco hit a lined shot up the middle. Heath took off from 2nd and I am pretty sure he never planned on stopping.

The relay came to the shortstop who made a great throw to the catcher. It was a bang-bang play at the plate. What would the call be? The catcher dropped the ball! He's safe! Goodfellas win!! The Goodfellas have now won 3 of their last 4 and are hoping to build on this momentum going into the last two weeks of the season.
