New season starts this coming Monday. As soon as we get more info, we will send out emails and post it here.

Also - stats for this past season are fully up to date.

Posse takes 2nd place in tourney
I don't have the details, but according to John The Posse got themselves into the championship game yesterday and were not able to pull it off. so they end up in 2nd place for the tournament. Congrats Posse!! They still have a few games left in the season and if they can get a win there, they will end up winning the league.

I still have not updated stats. I will do so once I get the stat sheets for The Posse's games.

Goodfellas 4th Place in Tourney, Posse still playing
It was a good day on the softball fields, fun times even thought it was HOT!

Goodfellas played Posse in their first tourney game and lost 7-4. Next up they took on Clear Lake Baptist. It was a close game throughout. In the end, the Goodfellas pulled ahead in their last at-bat and then were able to hold on for the victory 10-8.

The Posse were up next against Baybrook and were able to pull off a win to stay in the winner's bracket. Goodfellas then put together what was probably their best all around game in about 4 or 5 seasons to beat Southeast Church of Christ 17-10.

The Posse ran into a formidable League City Church of Christ team and lost to come down into the loser's bracket. If Goodfellas could just beat Baybrook, they would get a chance to play the Posse again for an opportunity to play in the Championship. It was not to be....Baybrook hit well and the bats fell silent for the Goodfellas.

As I type this, Baybrook and Posse are battling it out. I will update on results and also update stats later tonight if I don't crash in my bed!

Lucky 13
The Goodfellas played 2 good games tonight and walked away with 2 wins for the first time in a long time.

In game 1 it was Carlos carrying the team. If he had been able to get 4 at bats in, he may very well have hit for the cycle. He ended up with a triple, a double, and the home run that sealed the run-rule victory, producing 7 RBI in the process. The final score was 13-3 after 5 innings of play.

In game 2 The Goodfellas got off to a slow start with 3 up and 3 down in the first. They followed it up with a 9 run second inning, their highest run output in a single inning all season. League City Church of Christ #2 tied it up in their next at bat. Building off back to back home runs by Carlos and Greg, The Goodfellas put up 4 more runs as insurance in the very next inning. Over the last 2 innings, neither team would score. LCCC#2 had a runner called out at home for not tagging on a fly ball, and then Carlos and Shawn teamed up for a great play at second base to end the game with a final score of 13-9.

The tournament is scheduled to be played this Saturday. As soon as we know the schedule, everyone will get emails and the schedule page here will be updated.
