Tonight's games have been rescheduled to next week due to the rains we had over the weekend. Apparently the field is still pretty muddy so we will be pushing the tournament's start to next Monday 11/30.

When the games began last Monday, I really expected that we would have a great hitting night. We only had 11 players and I thought that would really help us to find a groove and stay in it. That is NOT what happened.

In our game against Baybrook Baptist we had spurts but no sustained hitting streaks. We had a chance to win in our last at bat but got gunned down at the plate to end the game in a 9-9 tie. The second game I am not sure if we even showed up for. Looking at the stat sheet we didn't string 2 hits in a row together at all that game. We ended up getting run-ruled 14-2.

We play the same teams tonight, so hopefully we can atone for last week's terrible play.

Putting the last 2 games (along with their poor defense) behind us, we marched forward this week and played two really good defensive games while scoring plenty of runs to win them both.

In our first game against Hope Lutheran, the innings were short and we actually played a full 7 innings if you can believe it!! I don't think I have ever played a game to its conclusion by innings before. There were no long drawn it streaks of hitting, all the runs came in bursts powered by a couple of 3 run home runs. The final ended up being 10-3 in our favor.

The second game we were able to string together a lot more hit and ended up scoring more runs. Again the defense was really good and we beat Clear Lake Baptist 16-3.
