Runs Runs and More Runs! That was the theme of the games this evening. In the first game, The Goodfellas got a run-rule shutout in 3 innings with a score of 17-0. Not much to say about this one, the score pretty much sums it up.

The next game was the FBCF Showdown #3 (second one this season). Wow what a game. The Posse had to pickup a couple of players to make 10 and wouldn't you know one of the pickup guys hit a home run which counted for an out. This was actually very significant. Coming up in their last at-bat, The Posse was down 17-5. They scored 11 runs that inning before The Goodfellas finally got the third out to seal the game at 17-16 and secure their second 2-win week in a row.

In the last game of the evening The Posse put up 10 runs and played some great defense to win their seventh game of the season. Matt Shelly pulled off an amazing third to first double play in the middle innings to retire the side and really put a damper on the other team's spirits.

Next week The Posse will be playing on both Monday and Tuesday. The Goodfellas have a bye next week. The tournament will be Saturday 9/22 and The Goodfellas will have some make-up games the following Monday (not Tuesday as reported earlier).

Well unfortunately the rain clouds from this weekend did not stay away and Danny called just a while ago to say the games have been rained out. He said we would play them on 9/25 which will be after the tournament. Bummer.
