Like Kissing Your Sister
We've played four games now. We have played to a tie in 3 of them.
We lost game one tonight with a
pitiful offensive performance which was backed up by some pretty bad defense too. Granted the team we were playing was hitting the ball hard, we still made it easy on them with missed catches, sloppy play, and just overall poor execution on the defensive side. Of course you would have to play pretty stellar D to overcome only scoring two runs.
Game two was similar to last week's game two. Apparently it takes us all of game one and most of game 2 before we warm up and
start hitting the ball. In our final at bat as the visitors, we scored 5 runs to pull into a tie. Then we had to keep them from scoring. The first guy got on base with what we all thought was a bad call. But Moe erased any doubt on the next play as he snagged a line drive right back to the pitcher and quickly threw to first for the double play. We were able to get the final out without them scoring a run to secure the tie.
NOTE - PRACTICE TOMORROW (TUESDAY) @ 6:30!!! We will have a little week night practice at our normal location for those who are unable to make it on Sundays as well as those who just want the extra work. Also - take note - we will be doing some fielding practice this coming Sunday in addition to batting. We have a
BYE next week so lets get some good practice in and be ready to get our first win next time.

Off and Running Jogging Briskly Walking!!!
That's right, the season has started....FINALLY!
Last night was lots of fun. Game 1 was a low scoring affair. We played decent defense but could not string together a lot of hits. In the end we came away with a 5-5 tie.
Game 2 was different on both ends. A few defensive lapses cost us several runs. But we also made a pretty good rally late in the game and ended up getting a tie in that game too!! Can you believe it?!
Stats from last night are posted. The
Schedule is posted as well.
We will plan on having practice this Sunday at 2 PM as usual AND will probably add a mid-week practice on Tuesday night next week for the guys who are unable to make it on Sundays.

One More Week!!!!
Had a good turnout for practice yesterday, 11 guys showed up and got a little batting practice in. So right now it looks like we're going to have a good number of guys playing which will be helpful in fielding a complete team every game for this league.
Based on the RSVP emails and the turnout yesterday, I think we have about 15 or 16 that have said they would play in addition to a couple who have not committed but said we could call them if we needed players. This is a great number!
Our first game is currently scheduled for a week from today - but I don't have an exact schedule yet so I don't know what time. Potentially we could have the bye the first week which would delay our first game until the 30th. We will have practice again this Sunday (4/22) at 2pm at the field behind the Friendswood Junior High. I will send out an email as soon as I know exactly when we are playing.
